Mace begins a two-part series on The Journey’s Distinctives. Our Core Convictions are our beliefs about what make up the essence of Christianity, the things believed everywhere, always, and by all. Our Distinctives are beliefs about which genuine Christians may disagree but that have a significant impact on the life and teaching ministry of our local church. In part one, we cover our Ecclesiological Distinctives, our theological distinctives regarding the order of and life in the local church.  We cover topics such as the nature of the local church and its relationship to the universal church, the offices and governance of the local church, the inclusion of children in the corporate worship gathering, the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and spiritual gifts like tongues and prophecy. Our goal in this series is to be clear about where we stand and create a culture of thoughtful, charitable dialogue regarding debated and potentially controversial theological issues.

Mace concludes our series on Relational Evangelism. So far we have talked about how everyone is on a spiritual journey and how we can help people move through their spiritual journeys from Unknown to Known and then from Known to Curious. In this session, we talk about how we can help people move from Curious to Believing by sharing the Good News of Jesus with them and journeying with them to overcome any obstacles they may have to belief.

Steven continues our series on Relational Evangelism. We have talked in previous episodes about how to help people move from Unknown to Known in their spiritual journeys. Now Steven teaches how to help them go from Known to Curious. We want to gently help people see the plot holes in their worldview stories and reveal to them the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Christian Story. We do this through asking more thoughtful questions and sharing our stories about how the Christian Story has changed our lives.

In this episode Mace concludes our series of lessons on The Journey’s Core Values. In this lesson, we discuss our Missional value. Everyone is already on a spiritual journey, and we get to walk alongside them. We call living intentional to this end being missional. Jesus gave us a mission: to make disciples. Or the way we like to say it: to invite people on a Journey to discover the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Christian Story. This is our duty, and this is our delight.
