C.S. Lewis famously said that to make the claims that Jesus made means that he is either a liar, a lunatic, or he is Lord. But that argument presupposes that the Gospels accurately record the life and words of Jesus. Do they? How do we know?
These are the sorts of questions that Pastor Steven Hiller addresses in Session 2 of “Why Believe?”, “The Trilemma.” In this lesson, he lays out six strands of evidence that support the accuracy of the history, including Jesus’ claims about himself, in the Gospels.

If you knew you had one night left to live, how would you spend it? We know how Jesus would spend it because his last night before he went to the cross is recorded for us in the Gospels.

We all live by a story. The question is, “What story do we live by?” And “Is the story we live by true?” “Is there such a thing as one true story of the whole universe?” “Should I even care?”
These are the sorts of questions that Pastor Steven addresses in session 1 of our adult Discipleship Class, “Why Believe?” based on the book of the same name by theoretical chemist Neil Shenvi, “Why Ask, ‘Why Believe?’”

Our lives are a part of one grand cosmic Story, written by God, the good and righteous author. But sometimes it may not feel like that. Sometimes the Story takes difficult, painful, and confusing turns.
In this sermon on John 12:36b–50, Pastor Steven Hiller explains how the story of Israel and the story of Jesus remind us that no matter what, we can trust the author of the Story.

The great 19th century British preacher, Charles Spurgeon, once said, “I think, when a man says, ‘I never doubt,’ it is quite time for us to doubt him.”
We all wrestle with doubts. Christian and non-Christian alike deal with doubts about the truthfulness of Christianity. And Christians often struggle with what has been historically called assurance of salvation. "Am I really saved? Are my sins truly forgiven? Will I truly be resurrected to eternal life?"
In this sermon on John 10:22–42, Pastor Mace Perez shows why we can have confidence that Christianity is true and why we can have assurance of salvation.
