When Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father, he sent the Holy Spirit who empowers the church with spiritual gifts. But none of these gifts matter without love. Steven applies the apostle Paul’s teaching in 1 Corinthians 13:1–2 on the importance and centrality of love to where we are in the life of our church plant.

Christians have been gathering since the earliest days of the church on Sundays, the Lord’s Day, for the purpose of corporate worship. And every church’s corporate worship gathering follows some set pattern or order. The traditional word for this order is “liturgy,” which means “work of the people.” In this episode, Mace teaches through the what, how, and why of The Journey’s liturgy.

Steven concludes our two-part series on The Journey’s Distinctives. Our Core Convictions are our beliefs about what make up the essence of Christianity, the things believed everywhere, always, and by all. Our Distinctives are beliefs about which genuine Christians may disagree but that have a significant impact on the life and teaching ministry of our local church. In part two, we cover our Doctrinal Distinctives, The Journey’s distinctives on various theological and significant social and ethical issues. We cover topics such as the proper methodology for biblical interpretation, God’s design for the family, the sovereignty of God in salvation, the relationship between the church and the nation of Israel, and the millennial kingdom of Christ. Our goal in this series is to be clear about where we stand and create a culture of thoughtful, charitable dialogue regarding debated and potentially controversial theological issues.

In this session, we talk about how we can help people move from Curious to Believing by sharing the Good News of Jesus with them and journeying with them to overcome any obstacles they may have to belief.

Steven continues our series on Relational Evangelism. We have talked in previous episodes about how to help people move from Unknown to Known in their spiritual journeys. Now Steven teaches how to help them go from Known to Curious. We want to gently help people see the plot holes in their worldview stories and reveal to them the truth, goodness, and beauty of the Christian Story. We do this through asking more thoughtful questions and sharing our stories about how the Christian Story has changed our lives.

Mace continues our series on Relational Evangelism. Faith is a journey. And it starts with someone going from Unknown to Known. So if we want to share the Good News of Jesus with the people where we live, work, learn, and play, we want to develop the skills of asking good, open-ended questions and actively listening. As we do, we get to know people’s stories and where they are on their spiritual journeys, and they feel seen, known, and loved.

Steven begins a new series on Relational Evangelism. Evangelism is one of the core works of the church. So Steven lays out what evangelism is, why we too often don’t evangelize, why we should evangelize, and why relational evangelism, in particular, is important in this age. We pray this lesson inspires and equips you to share the Good News of Jesus where you live, work, learn, and play.

Steven concludes our series on The Journey’s Core Convictions. These are the beliefs we hold most dear because they are essential Christian beliefs. Here, he teaches on the last things. The conclusion and resolution of the Story. Our hope! What has the Christian church historically and consistently taught about where the history of the universe is heading, and how is that different, how is it truer, better, and more beautiful than the secular story?

Mace continues our series on The Journey’s Core Convictions. These are the beliefs we hold most dear because they are essential Christian beliefs. Here, he is teaching on the church. The word church conjures up all sorts of images and thoughts in people’s minds, some good, some maybe not so good. But what have Christians throughout history, around the world, and across denominational lines all agreed up regarding the church?
